Why Should You Use Getresponse?

June 26, 2008 | Leave a Comment

How are you going to get leads, prospects, subscribers, customers etc…Well getresponse offers a total turnkey solution. The first list I ever started came from getresponse. Let me tell you the pros and cons of using getresponse.

Pros: You can buy Co-registration lead packages.

cons: your autoresponder shares space with other ads.

Thats actually why I use two autoresponders.

Are Co-registration leads worth buying?

Buying a co-registration lead is different then buying bulk emails. Co-registration leads double opt-in to receive your information. Bulk leads are crappy never buy them EVER!

You can get a steady flow of leads coming into your marketing system for about 89 cents a person. You will then be able to market to them for as long as they are in your autoresponder. If you establish a relationship with your email list you can easily make back your money even if they don’t join your main business.

I had someone on my list who joined my primary business after being on my list for a year. I got that lead from get response.

Experiment on your ad copy, if you message is filled with hype you will get a bad lead but you will fill your autoresponder faster. If you target your message to specifically who you are looking for you will have a much more targeted quality lead but it will take longer to fill your order.

Have patience when you are marketing online. People automatically assume that you will just get online and start making money. That is only true if you have enough money to sustain your business at first and the right information.

Mixing free marketing in with paid marketing is the fastest low cost way to get your business up and running. Anyone who tells you that you will make money fast using free methods alone is lying. You can make money using free marketing methods but it will take some time before you see results.

personally I don’t have the patience to click traffic exchanges for hours or click emails for credits, but i don’t mind buying advertising credits from time to time.

Getresponse is just one solution to bringing leads to you. For my business I have leads coming from everywhere.

Avoid These 4 List Building mistakes.

March 11, 2008 | 2 Comments

Everyone knows that money is in the list right ?

Then why is it so many people are struggling to make money online ?

Answer : Most people don’t understand the importance of building and nurturing a list.

Mistake #1 KNOW YOUR READER

Who is reading your emails ? You should be trying to communicate with your list. It’s not good enough to just send them affiliate offer after affiliate offer. You are actually sending emails to real people. The people on your list are looking for solutions not more problems.

And yes sending someone a different offer every week presents more confusion then clarity.

Mistake #2 Stop trying to sell something all the time.

Why are you building a list to begin with ? Is it just to make money ?

If so that will come through your email messages. People hate being sold to 9 times out of 10 if you try and sell something you will lose your reader. People do love to buy though as long as they made the decision to buy and not forced to buy.

I have left stores with money in hand because a salesperson was just too pushy.

Mistake #3 Stop listening to all the guru’s

There are thousands of list building strategies. If they all worked don’t you think there would be more people celebrating there successes?

The most successful strategy is your own. People want value not hot air.

Do you think offering a free gift is enough? You may get lots of subscribers, but you won’t make much money.

Yes it is important for you to give value to your subscriber. You should give away something of value but do not make the mistake of making it the reason why someone is joining your email list.

If you want a list that will make you money, you want people on your list who will read your emails and take action. I can’t tell you how many times I joined a list with no other intention then getting something for free. (who hasn’t)

I think it’s important to mention here, I have never bought a product because a marketer sent me a email.

Yes I have bought products from marketers online through their email campaigns but I buy because I like what they are saying and how they say it.

Mistake#4 Avoid copycat strategies.

Copy/paste techniques are good for niche marketing campaigns with auto responder follow ups.

These types of campaigns are well crafted.

But if you are building YOUR list, Every email you send to them should be your best stuff. Don’t cheapen your way out by copy/pasting someone else’s messages. There is a lot to be said about originality. There are thousands of people “trying to sell stuff online”, you need to stand out in the crowd.

Before starting your list building ask yourself this important question. If you don’t have an answer don’t build a list.

Why should anyone sign up to my list ?

I asked myself that question I couldn’t figure out the answer for months. Then it dawned on me.

To quote Hank Williams Jr

“ I’ve been down that road before”

The Most Important page you have online. Hint its not your index page

December 31, 2007 | 2 Comments

I am sure by now you heard about building your list. Did you know that the most important page you have is your thank you page. I use getresponse and aweber both autoresponder companies use confirmation pages and thank you pages.

Once someone agrees to sign up for your subscription or purchases an online product from you. Its the perfect time to show them more, after all they already trust you enough to sign up for your newsletter or even better purchased something off of you. Your Thank You page is prime real estate. I have seen this space wasted often. Don’t neglect this page its that important. As soon as i implemented these changes myself I noticed a increase in all  my conversions.

Get 2008 started in the right direction , work on putting together good thank you pages. The same could be said for your 404error pages also. You lose lots of traffic to these error pages.

Conclusion :

Well thought out thank you pages are worth the price of admission , don’t neglect them. And treat your customers and subscribers like royalty. It will pay you huge dividends in the end.

Auto Responder Marketing Techniques

November 6, 2007 | Leave a Comment

The Internet offers many means of affordable marketing with auto responders. Here are a couple of popular ways of using them.

DIRECTORY
Some webmasters set up link or article directories on their sites. They create a directory on a specific industry topic, placing their own ad or banner along the top. Then they invite others to add their website links via a link exchange program, listing themselves in your directory. Or they invite articles to be submitted that include a resource box at the bottom of each with a link to the author’s website. This results on increased traffic as sites link up across the World Wide Web. Enter “link exchange software” or “article directory software” into a favorite search engine for help with each.

TEACH A COURSE
Some marketers write up a simple step-by-step instructional class in their area of expertise. Then they break it up into smaller portions or messages and set them up in an auto responder as email messages, including short ads within each message to invite sales & website visits. Then they invite website visitors to sign up through on online form or email subscription address offered through the auto responder service. As people sign up, they will learn more about the products and services through the teaching series.

Introduction to Autoresponders

October 24, 2007 | 1 Comment

If you’ve reached the point of exhaustion trying to keep up
with answering the mountain of emails that threatens to
bury you alive every single day, you’re ready to learn
about autoresponders.

The bad news is that people expect prompt replies to their
email inquiries. However, unless you can figure out how to
work continual twenty-four hour shifts, or hire enough
people to constantly monitor incoming emails (while they’re
eating up your revenue), you have a problem. The good news
is an autoresponder is an inexpensive - or even free -
method of quickly responding to emails. What these programs
do is automatically respond to incoming emails as soon as
they are received.

Emails are essential to your business for many different
reasons. Most importantly, these invisible email voices
give you their feedback about your website - for free!
However, if you spend all your working hours answering
these emails, how are you supposed to run your business?
The answer is simple: use autoresponders. Autoresponders
are programs that automatically respond to your emails
without you so much as having to click on your mouse.

There are a number of good reasons why you need an
autoresponder besides just answering your email. For
example, autoresponders can be used if you need a way to
send information about your services or products, price
lists, or if there are repeated questions asked across
large numbers of emails. Maybe you want to offer your site
visitors a special bonus of some kind, such as advice or
relevant articles. All of this can be handled by an
autoresponder. Additionally, you can advertise your
business and then build stable relationships with your
customers by using autoresponders.

Autoresponder programs vary from software that runs with
your email program to a specialized script that runs on
your web hosting company’s server. This kind of script may
use a web page form or simply operate with your email
account. This kind of script is programmed to send out a
standardized message whenever an email is received. The
message is sent to a particular script or email address.

Some autoresponders can do more than simply send out
standardized messages. They can send out an unlimited
number of follow-up messages sent at predetermined interval
of time. For example, you can set your autoresponder to
send out a new message every day for as long a period as
you desire.

There are numerous companies who offer autoresponders free
of charge. Your website hosting company often provides
autoresponders as a free service. If this is not the case
with your web hosting company, there are numerous companies
who offer this service for a small fee, or free of charge,
providing you attach an advertisement for their company to
your emails.

To personalize your autoresponder messages, you can attach
a signature. Signatures in this case are much like business
cards. You can include your name, company, all your contact
numbers and addresses, and a brief message.

It’s a good idea to attach a signature to every email that
is sent out. This works as a repeated reminder of your
business identity every time a customer sees it. The more
they look at your signature, the more likely your company
will spring to mind when your particular service or product
is needed.

You can create a standardized signature that every employee
in your business uses, or you can go wild, and let every
staff member create their own personal signature. Of
course, like everything in life, there are some rules and
guidelines to creating a personal signature.

Keep the length of your signature between four to six lines
of text, with no more than 70 characters in a single line.
Make sure that your email program does not cut off your
text! The content should include your name, your company
name, your email address, fax number, and any other contact
details, such as 800 numbers. Lastly, always include a
short personal message about your company. It should be a
subtle sell of your services or your products, and possibly
your company’s reliability and longevity.

Another specialized use of autoresponders is to create
courses that you can then offer your site visitors for
free. You must choose a topic in which you are an expert
and that precisely targets your potential customers.

Once you have carefully chosen your subject, divide it into
a number of different sub-topics. Then offer your site
visitor a free 10 or 15 day course, each day offering a
different sub-topic. The first topic should always be a
welcome message to your site visitor and an explanation
about what is to follow. Your explanation should be
enticing, getting the point across that you are offering
free, quality information that your target audience will
find of great value.

With every lesson, include the number of the lesson, the
topic title, information about your company and its
services or products. At the end, include a few blurbs
about the next lesson to entice the subscriber to continue
on.

Make sure each topic is packed with essential and valuable
information, and leaves the visitor lusting to know more.
Otherwise, you may lose them in the very beginning.

Of course, you have to write up your course before you can
offer it. Once you have done this, and gone over the
material carefully, employing a professional writer or
editor if necessary, you must transfer your text to your
autoresponder.

There are a number of free autoresponders you can use. Try
http:/www.getresponse.com, or http://www.fastfacts.net. Or
go onto Google and you will find a long list of free
autoresponder companies. Then sign-up for your chosen
autoresponder. Once you do, you will receive instructions
as to how to set it up and transfer your text.

Email is an excellent marketing tool; it is inexpensive and
it is fast. Use it to advertise your business by choosing
your email address carefully. Your website should contain
different email addresses for different contact requests.
For example, use info@yourdomain.com for information
requests, or sales@yourdomain.com for questions about
sales. It’s a good idea to set up one for the owner, such
as president@yourdomain.com. This presents your company in
a personal, approachable light and insures that direct
contact is provided.

Autoresponders are an effective and powerful marketing
tool, allowing you to make contact with thousands of
potential customers. This is an invaluable asset
considering how many potential customers you usually have
contact with before you make an actual sale. Essentially,
an autoresponser allows you to automate part of your
marketing campaign.
