If you want to build a successful downline you will need to focus on a few different aspects of your business.

To successfully build a mlm downline you will need learn these skills.

I recommend sitting down and writing down your marketing sales process.

Many times you may get your prospect through the door, but you do not end up closing them.

My personal marketing sales funnel looks something like this.

Opt-in –>personal follow up email from me–> automated follow up email series–> blog,twitter,video market (branding) rinse wash repeat…

Check Out My Npn Profile Page! <—- This type of page makes the perfect follow up page. You will increase your conversions if you greet your prospect with a video from you.

It is just as important to provide team training and support as it is to getting new downline members.

Matter of fact I would say it is more important to have a system in place to help your team members learn what they need to do next to make money online.

Unfortunately there are to many people who join these businesses only to end up abandoned without upline support. Always make sure you are working with a team that provides support for you and the people you bring into your business.

Network marketing is all about leveraging!

If you are not getting the support you need from your upline, look for a new team.

There are many scams online, but to call mlm businesses a scam is a little harsh.  The biggest reason why mlm has gotten a bad wrap over the years is because many unscrupulous people have made claims that are false.

When you hear people talk about network marketing businesses you often hear words like binary compensation , forced matrix, 3×3, 5×2 etc.. It is no wonder why so many people are sceptical about joining a mlm business.

There are scams online that is a fact.

A couple things you can do right now to find out if the mlm you are interested in is a scam.

The first and most obvious is to go to google and type in *business name* scam and see what pops up.  Be careful many people call legitimate businesses scams because they themselves have failed.  Don’t worry about the 1 or 2 bad reviews, worry about the 50 or 60 bad reviews , that usually is a good indicator that you should stay away from that business.

Another big one is if the business sounds unethical that probably means it is. Use common sense when looking at mlm businesses.  Ask yourself if they are really selling a product.  A ponzi scam is a done when people pass money around with the promise of a higher return, the only problem is there is no product just people passing around money.

It does not matter what type of business you start online , there is no guarantee that you will make any money at all. Any company that guarantee’s that you will make money online is lying to you and you are best to stay away from them.

The only way to guarantee that you will make money in a network marketing business is to actively promote , promote , promote. It comes down to numbers.

I have actually had people tell me they have gotten 1000 hits to their website and did not make a sale. I have news for you one month I got 75,347  visitors to my website through various marketing methods and only got 16 sign ups for the month.  You may be thinking geeze thats a lot of visitors, but I will be the first to admit the quality of traffic wasn’t that good, but still I pulled out 16 sign ups to one of my businesses. In the end I believe for that month I made a few bucks  and put some members in my downline.

It takes thousands of visitors to your website to make money online. That is why I often say you need to learn how to become a good internet marketer if you want to make money in the mlm industry online.

Most network marketing businesses are not scams like anything else in life it takes time to learn how to become an efficient marketer on the internet.

I make money in the mlm industry when someone says to me that I am involved in a scam I smile because I am at home hanging out with my family while they go off to work!

Most people who are just starting out in this business have no idea where to start or even what to do.


For starters joining a mlm business has very little to do with the product. The product does matter, but most people are only interested in making money online.  So lets assume for a moment that you love your product and you think its the best think since sliced bread.

Do you know how to sell your mlm business?

First and formost is your sponsor helping you. If you joined a business and have not heard from your sponsor in 5 days leave your business opportunity and join under someone else.  Someone who will reach out and connect with you.  If your sponsor is making money than do what ever they are doing to see similar results.

The easiest way to sell your mlm business is by selling you. If you are are unsure of what to say or to write, it is very important you spend some quality time with your sponsor and getting to know your team.

That’s why its very important to know who’s team you are on. If  there is no team support your mlm business is ship without a sail.

I have had people call me up scared to death trying to sell me their business. My friends if you market right the only people you should ever be calling is people who have first seeked you out. Never cold call anyone , don’t by name list those are big no no’s online.

Instead include your contact information in every email you send. Use lead capture systems that you can use follow up with your prospect.

Mlm profits will come to you only after you establish yourself as the right person to work with not before. Spend a good portion of your time, building your brand via youtube, blogging, social networking.

Start a ezine (newsletter) and share what you learn with the leads you capture.

One final piece of advice for today, affiliate yourself to more than 1 product.  How many stores have you been into that only sell 1 product?
