Wordpress Easy Upgrade and Review
May 8, 2008 | Leave a Comment
I just got done installing the Wordpress upgrade on my server. I was using version 2.3 I liked it. version 2.5 is so much better its like its a different platform all together. Some of the new features like add media allows me to upload pictures directly from my computer. I use to have to use my ftp client and upload the pictures manually. That was a real pain. The new build makes it much easier to integrate images and video into your post. I highly recommend you upgrade your version to the new 2.5.1. I must admit It has taken me awhile to upgrade from my original version. Mainly because I was alittle confused even after reading the upgrade procedure. What ended up happening was I installed the newer version on another one of my domain names, I was so impressed how much better the newer version was I was bummed out that I was stuck with the older one on this domain. Long story short. One of the reasons why I like Wordpress so much is because its open source and there are a ton of plug-ins you can get. If you are running an older version of Wordpress and you are unsure how to upgrade I have a very easy solution for you. I did some digging around and found to plugins that worked very well for me. It actually made the whole process of backing up my system and installing the upgrade painless.

Wordpress Easy Upgrade ( I wish I new about this plug in a few months ago. It really does make the whole process of upgrading your wordpress a snap.
The new interface is much cleaner and organized. Pretty much all the plugins I was using still work. I recommend you installing these plugins. Wordpress tends to come out with new updates frequently.
