Raise your hand if you are paying for advertising. You probably have heard dozens of stories about people spending thousands of dollars on advertising and not making a single cent back. The name of the game is advertising. The more people that see your links the more chance you have of making a profit.

The very first thing you are going to want to do is set up your tracking system. Knowing if your efforts are paying off is very important. Basically you are going to want to split test your ads to see which ads have a better response rate. You are also going to have to track where your traffic is coming from and finally you will need to find out what your conversion rate is.

Now if you are on a very low budget, spending $600 on a test may be a bit frivolous. It is a good idea to start your advertising online using low costing and free advertising sources.

Traffic Exchanges – This is by far the quickest way to get traffic coming to your website. The way that a traffic exchange works is basically like this. You join a traffic exchange and start viewing other people’s websites in exchange they agree to view your website. Most article directories are authority sites, so by writing articles and submitting them you are allowed to include your links to the directory basically telling search engines that your website is important. To effectively use article marketing, besides writing good articles focus your attention on your resource box.

I don’t recommend that you use your affiliate links in your resource box. It is a waste of precious real estate, instead add your blog or websites links and capture the person’s information into your lead system. Social Networking – This includes sites like Face Book, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace these sites allow you to make friends that you can send emails to. Email marketing is the base of all internet marketing. You can build a huge list of people to contact about your business just by using these resources.

Social networking works differently than other forms of advertising because people here are not really looking for businesses to join. Mostly people are just looking to get involved with networking and making friends. The secret to getting social networking to work in your favor is by making your profile interesting and constantly adding new friend request. In Social Networks you are sharing information not convincing people that they should join your business. If anything in social networks let your personality really shine through. It is here where attraction marketing works the best.

Times are changing and they are changing fast.

Its time to take a step back and really evaluate  whats going on online. I believe thousands of people are getting tired of being burned.  The reason people are getting burned is because they are buying into the hype that is circulation online.

How many times have you heard or saw advertisments that say “Just Get In And Get Paid”? What amazes me is the fact that people really do buy into that crap.  My friends that is not how the internet works. It is not that easy to build an online business.

Learning real skills is the only solution to earning a realistic income on the internet.  I spent 6 months straight spending an average of $3000 a month on advertising alone. I made a profit and brought people into my business. That was great!  The bad news was the MAJORITY of the people I brought into my business(s) knew very little about marketing online and barely had a advertising budget let alone the ability to pay for their monthly membership fee’s.
